A Sacred Home
in Leicester
Abode of the Narmadeshwara Lingam in the heart of Leicester — where the timeless tradition of the Brahma Samaj endures.

Since 3rd October 1970
A sanctuary of devotion, scholarship and community in the heart of Leicester, established in 1970.
During the sixth and seventh decades of the last century, a few Brahmin families migrated to Leicester and resolved to make it their home. To fulfil the missing needs of religious education, culture and community cohesion, a group of passionate members founded The Leicestershire Brahma Samaj on the 3rd October 1970.
On the 20th April 1977, a building on Belgrave Road was acquired at auction by the hard-working, foresighted members of the Samaj — establishing a permanent home in the heart of Leicester, which is also the heart of England.
